I’m alive….mostly!

So…hello everyone!

It’s been a while, I know, I apologize..

Had a 40+ hour a week job, and juggling that with sleep and reading blogs and trying to finish my Song of Ice and Fire re-read before book 5 arrived (failed, still working on book 4, poo!), I just kinda forgot to update it.

But now that 40+ hour a week job is over (it was only temporary…which I knew from the start…sigh…), I’ll have more time and energy to devote to this blog. Here goes nothing! I apologize for the cobwebs, we’ll get this place cleaned up soon!

1. NaNoWriMo is going okay. Had to change my plot a few times, ’cause it wadsn’t working out…until I found the ending I loved, until I found out that this books I was reading ended the same way. Well played, Brandon Sanderson, well played….

2. My Wheel of Time book STILL isn’t here. Came out on Tuesday. Didn’t ship until yesterday. With a USPS tracking nuWhmber, so I doubt I’ll get any useful information until it shows up at my doorstep. I don’t like them. But I like getting my book. Squee. A friend “spoiled” a bit of it, but it’s okay, and really only makes me more excited, because the fun of these books is more seeing HOW and WHY things happen, more than the WHAT, if that makes any sense. Seriously, read these books. Give it to at least the end of the second book before you quit. The first book is slow, but if you’re not hooked by the end of the second book, it’s hopeless. But the insane length is worth it so far, trust me….

3. My mice babies are now squeaking. I chanced a peek, and while most of them are still kinda hairless, a few of them are gaining little black spots like their daddy mouse. Looks like they’ll either look like mommy or daddy with no crosses in between, but we’ll see. In a week or so, they’ll be fuzzy and running around and such, so I’ll know then. I got a big ol’ tank from my mom, so that I can do the divider thing for real this time, with plexiglass or real glass or whatever, so that they can’t get around, and it’s a HUGE tank, so I’m not worried about crowding. I’m more worried about separating the boys and girls once they’re old enough, truth be told. Still looking for homes for them, because I don’t want them to go to the pet store to be fed to snakes. And they don’t treat them as well at the bed store, they don’t get handled as often and such, so they’re more likely to be mean biters…

4. Asmodean (daddy mouse) has been biting my finger recently, but not drawing blood. Apparently, that means he’s playing or warning me. Yesterday he sniffed all around my hand and even touched it with his paw and it was adorable. I love my little mice. I just wish they didn’t have babies. SO MANY BABIES!!!!

5. Still no job. Still looking. All over the place. Hard not to get discouraged, but I try. There are definately times when I want to curl up and hide and think that no one wants me, ever, but then I dust myself off and keep trying. If I don’t try, I’ll never get a job, right?

6. Here, I’ll give you the first 2 paragraphs of my horrible fantasy novel that I’m writing for NaNoWriMo. I already know it’s horrible, I just feel the need to share anyways…

Alendi sighed and turned back to his book as his father left. These arguments drained him, with his father always insisting Alendi become more like he. Alendi refused to turn out like his father. He has watched his father be a tyrannical lord for too long, and he refused to act as such himself. Too much was at stake. When he took up the position as head of the Danger house, he would be a different sort of lord. One who was kind, instead of cruel. One that worked with the people, instead of against them. One who worked for freedom, not for more oppression.
It didn’t matter yet that he did not yet know how to do that. That was why he read. He was trying to absorb as many different types of political theory as he could. They all had their flaws, but maybe if he made some sort of hybrid system, it would be workable… Nor did he look much like someone who was going to be the next lord of his house. His light brown curly hair was never neat, and he insisted on wearing clothes made of wool and cotton, instead of the normal silk worn by lords and their families, and cut in a style from a few years back, rather than the newest style. He often had a distracted, scholarly air about him due to the books he read. One could forget all that when they looked into his eyes. When his focused on someone or something, his ice blue eyes had been known to cause people to flinch.

Yeah, waiting for NaNoReMo (National Novel Revising Month…not an official thing, but everyone agrees revising takes time away from growing your word count…) to fix it. Made goal yesterday by the skin of my teeth. Can’t write today. Not in even a remotely workable writing mood. There’s (hopefully, need to mess with it) going to be a widget on the side bar with my progress, if you so desire to look at such a thing. 🙂 Remember, the goal is 50,000 words, with 1667 needed a day to make the goal….

7. Happy Guy Fawkes Day. Remember remember the fifth of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot. Since there aren’t bonfires in most areas this side of the pond, I recommend watching V For Vendetta, and then reading the comic. The comic is far superior, but the movie is still very well done. I’m not sure how long the embed will word (most of the copies on youtube have the embed disabled…) but if you can;t find it, look up V for Vendetta TV speech on TV….

And this scene is pretty awesome as well…the cool part starts at 4:25 or so, but the entire clip is just win….

…and that’s what I’m going to be doing tonight…

8.  …I’m contemplating making a few comic strips out of my NaNoWriMo, which would help overcome a lot of the awkwardness inherent in my NaNo due to the medium and the story I’m trying to tell. So my NaNo would essentially be a “script” of sorts for my comic. Anyone have any thoughts on this? And any random names anyone has to suggest for my webcomic name? I’ve got a crapton of strips, just not the webspace to put them anywhere at the moment…..

WTF Wednesday, lets-try-this-again edition!

First, in honor of there having been drunken gummies at my birthday party recently (gummy bears soaked in vodka…and yes, I recently had a birthday. 22 now! Yay!), have a gummy bear wtf:

I just want to know this person’s thought process. “I’m bored, lets cut open gummy bears, put them back together in weird ways, and take pictures of it and post it on the internet? I like the weird gif at he bottom of the page…

Next Star Wars WTF:

This got included, because it’s kinda like, “Wow, someone had too much time on their hands…” It’s actually pretty awesome…just…wtf, you had free time and you thought, “Hey, let’s make an animated Star Wars rap video…”

Next: Palin WTF:

Bristol Palin is hitting the speakers’ circuit and will command between $15,000 and $30,000 for each appearance, Palin family attorney Thomas Van Flein said Monday.

Bristol Palin, 19, is listed on the speaking group’s website as available for conferences, fundraisers, special events and holidays, as well as women’s, youth, abstinence and “pro-life” programs.

Okay, so her mom was famous and she had a baby as a teen? And that makes her qualified to get paid that much as a speaker? I’ve seen a lot of weird shit in my life, I’ve experienced many hardships, let me be a speaker. Hell, 2 on ’em at most would pay for a year of my schooling, and I’d catch up with my past schooling with 6-8 more of ’em. Within a few months, I’d be set for life…

Next, cat wtf:

Here (warning: Video starts autoplaying, and there is no pause…)

Seems like the cat kinda went crazy and kept attacking the girl. She’s good at dodging though. Glad my mom’s cats don’t do that. Hope she got paid extra for all that trouble…

Next, police wtf:

In one of the most disturbing police-related stories I’ve read about in a long time, a member of SWAT team gunned down a seven year-old girl named Aiyana Jones as she slept on a couch. The police were conducting a raid on the Detroit apartment she lived in to serve an arrest warrant for a murder suspect.

If you try to click the link and it doesn’t work, try again after noon. I read this article before it got posted. Full disclosure: I know the author, ’tis why I chose his post to go up instead of his source materials. I’m biased, but at least I’m up-front about it. But to kill an innocent little girl so callously? And the police officer gets paid leave? WTF? People wonder why I’m skeptical of government sometimes, and the police are def a big part of it. I mean, they weren’t even at the right house! If the police can’t even be considered competent enough to figure out which side of a duplex to violently raid, when it’s obvious a child lives somewhere in the duplex…. and you want them running around with guns? And people say I’M the crazy one?

Anyways, that’s if for WTF Wednesday. Now my semester in school is over, my life is less hectic, and hopefully I can get back to this. Join us on Friday, for what will likely be an insanely long FTW Fridays (My ftw’s are so plentiful these days..)….I bid you all a fantastic morning/wonderful night, depending on how crazy your sleep schedules are. Night!

Short post

Hey ya’ll. Instead of the wtf wednesday post from yesterday and the ftw friday post from last week, I instead offer you a personal post…

I’ve been feeling really run-down and kinda sick recently. And busy. Oh so very busy. This might continue for a while. Don’t want to get into it. So, if a post is late or doesn’t show up, you know why.

Have a few posts I am somewhat working on. Hopefully they’ll get up soon.

Okay, so, Dr. Q, being the awesome amazing guy that he is, enrolled me in an anarchism class. Basically, it’s intro to anarchy, which I think will be beneficial to me. I hang around with a whole bunch of anarchists, so I’d like to have some grounding in it so that I can participate in a conversation with my friends whenever the topic switches to it, which, knowing my friends, is quite often :-p. I’ve thought about trying to read all the books necessary to be able to “know the topic”, as it were, yet there are many many books, and I’ve gotten conflicting answers from some people, and certain authors **coughcough** who shall remain nameless I couldn’t even get halfway through, not due to their ideas, which I thought were fine, but the way the author presented it reminded me of an arrogant fuckwad. I had even joked around with my friends, “Oh, yeah, just wait until I can have an anarchism class, then you all would be owned!”….and then an anarchism class was offered. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep my side of the argument…

Anyways, why am I telling you all this? Well you get to have more posts from me now! Each week, we have to write 500-600 words about whatever topic is assigned that week. I am going to post these critiques every Friday after I pass them in, as well as talk about the class. Why? Because I can. So that I can force myself to keep a record of this, so that I don’t forget where I’ve been, once I get where I’m going! I want to be able to chart my growth. My first paper…I feel like I’m only kind of toddling. It’s kinda sad, because the other people in my class seem like they’re already at a run (they might have known stuff about it before…probably did, considering who is holding the class…)…but I plan to try to catch up to them by the end of the class.

So, we’ll see what happens. I’ll post the critique later tonight, after I have a chance to edit it a bit for clarification…

Hello all!

So, I kinda disappeared for a while. Where did I go, you might be wondering? (or more likely than not, NOT wondering, since I don’t think enough people read this that I had a following…)

I decided that I was gonna stop with the WTF and FTW posts until I got to make a “real” post. One of those is coming along like…within a minute or two or so after this post.

I didn’t warn you all because I didn’t expect it to be this long. But school and life got in the way. But I got those under control, so hopefully now we can resume normal blog functioning. Thanks for sticking with me!

Just a quick post to say that I hope everyone has a fantastic new year and an amazing new decade ❤

What’s in a name?

Abnormal – Not normal, average, typical, or usual; deviating from a standard: abnormal powers of concentration; an abnormal amount of snow; abnormal behavior.

Psychotic: Characterized or afflicted with psychosis

Psychosis: a mental disorder characterized by symptoms, such as delusions or hallucinations, that indicate impaired contact with reality.

any severe form of mental disorder, as schizophrenia or paranoia

So, when I was telling people about my plans to make a blog, one question repeatedly came up: Why abnormally psychotic? How did you come up with that name? What does it “mean” to you? And so I decided to gather my thoughts and write about it on here.

As most cool things, it came out of my head while bored in class. I was sitting in my abnormal psychology class, doodling on my folder, just messing around. I had the words “Abnormal Psychology” on it. At some point during the class, I realized that Abnormal Psychology” was really close to “abnormally psychotic”, which amused me to no end, since we were studying psychotic people in class that day.

It just kinda bounced around in my head until I decided to make this blog. And so it felt like it just…fit somehow. ^_^

Plus, I have self-diagnosed myself with OCD and ADD. (will explain in a later post) I know these don’t make me “psychotic” or whatever, but sometimes I like to pretend. It’s just fun to say. “Yeah, I’m abnormally psychotic”

Also, little note: From here on out, I plan to have 2 small weekly features: WTF Wednesday and FTW Friday. WTF Wednesday will consist of me posting some stuff during the week that made me go “WTF?!?!”, (What the fuck?!?!?!?!) like the name suggests. FTW Fridays are for me posting things I found that week that I think are awesome (seeing as how ftw = for the win). Hopefully I can keep this up…we’ll see….

Hello world!

I know I have an about me page, but starting my blog without an introduction just doesn’t seem right somehow.

You can call me Momo. I’m a 21-year-old female college student. I’m a psychology major, but I LOVE computers. I can’t program worth a damn, but I’ve built multiple desktops and have replaced pretty much all the important parts on my laptop, from the mobo to the wireless card (and all sorts of assorted things in between). I’ve also made multiple websites, and have done sorts of assorted random things on/to my computers. I have very little sympathy for people who get their computers infested with all sorts of viruses/spyware/etc. Would you drive a car without knowing how to take care of it? Then why use a computer without teaching yourself how to do what’s necessary to make sure it runs? But I digress…

I also like video games. My favorites at the moment are games involving Yoshi or Zelda…yeah, I’m a bit of a Nintendo fangirl… I also like the Final Fantasy games, my favorite being 9.  Puzzle games like Portal and World of Goo also are fantastic. I’ll really play almost anything when I’m bored enough/in the right company. FPS’s are my least favorite, but they too have their time and place.

I also read comics. I’m trying to catch up with Batman, although I’m convinced I have ADD, so it’s kinda hard to sit down and read them sometimes. I wish the OCD I had would counteract that, but it’s too busy making me do crazy shit, like taking a certain amount of steps in each square on the sidewalk and not stepping on cracks.

Yeah, I’m a little crazy. Like the blog title says: Abnormally Psychotic. :-p

I plan on writing about..well, pretty much anything and everything. Some of it’ll be about stuff from my everyday life, some of it will be about current events stuff I find, and some of it might just be me ranting about stuff that angers/upsets me, or I’ll explain my position on something.  I’ll try to update on average once a week. I created this blog so that I can force myself to write more. So, we’ll see how well this goes…

Any other questions, feel free to leave a comment. I like to share, and I’m usually quite friendly, I promise!!
